Congenital Deformities
 
Congenital deformities like cleft lip and palate, congenital ear deformities and hand deformities can be restored with plastic surgery. The incidence of cleft lip and palate is 1 in 600 live births. We have a team of doctors and therapists to provide various surgical corrections and treatment in different stages. The cleft lip and palate are repaired at 3 and 9 months of age respectively. Alveolar bone graft is done at about 8 years of age. Cleft nose deformities and teeth malocclusion if any can be corrected during teenage with rhinoplasty and orthonagthic surgery. Congenital ear deformities like microtia or absence of ear can be reconstructed using patients own costal cartilage in 2 stages. Congenital facial palsy can be improved with functional muscle transfer to reduce the asymmetry during smiling. Accessory or duplication of the thumb can be excised and reconstructed to improve the appearance and function of the hand.
 
Reconstructive Surgery
 

In the treatment of cancers, complete excision is necessary to improve survival. However the resulting post-surgical deformity can affect the body image of the patient. Reconstructive surgery can help to restore body form and function. There is an increasing incidence of breast cancers in younger patients. The latest treatment modality of skin sparing mastectomy with immediate reconstruction can help to restore their body image and confidence.

Trauma or road traffic accidents often result in multiple facial lacerations and facial bone fractures. Plastic surgery can help to reduce the scarring on the face and fixed the facial fractures to restore bony alignment and teeth occlusion. For limb injuries and soft tissue defects , reconstructive microsurgery is available to replace lost tissue with flaps to save limbs.
