Why Health Screening?

Primary prevention and early detection is the best safeguard against illnesses, certain diseases and medical conditions. It has been proven that health screening is effective in detecting silent killers such as diabetes, hypertension, heart diseases, cancers, and kidney and liver disorders.  There are often no symptoms to these conditions. Early detection of a disease or condition allows for early treatment, which may reduce the possibility of further complications or even death.  Early detection can also make a major impact on the cost of treatment.

Education and guidance on how to lead a healthy lifestyle, as an integral part of health screening programmes, can also help to reduce the chances of acquiring certain
lifestyle-related illnesses.  

What It Involves

Health screening generally involves blood, urine and stool tests, and other procedures like X-rays, ultrasound scans and Electrocardiograms.  It also includes a consultation with the health screening doctor to record medical history and conduct a physical examination.  All the results will be consolidated with the doctor's findings, and a health screening report will be prepared for you.  A second appointment will be scheduled with the doctor to review the findings, and to provide the necessary medical advice.
